If you have visited this site more than a couple times in the past month, you probably just noticed that the top of the site is adorned with a fresh new logo. Illustrations were never my strong suit, but I actually think this one turned out quite well! One trick that I used in this logo and also the Plogger logo is to take letterforms out of the font I am using and convert them to vector outlines. This allows me to utilize some sophisticated shapes for the logo mark and arrange them in a way that is unique and appealing without having to create them from scratch. The Solano Systems logo here is just a couple of “S” letters rotated and interlocked together next to the type. It’s really quite a hackish logo, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if someone else has come up with something similar for another business with two s-words in the name. Not much else to say about it I guess.
