R.I.P. Safe_Mode

Some very interesting news this week from the Zend Camp, it appear PHP safe_mode, a notorious sore spot for PHP developers around the globe, may be removed entirely from the next version of PHP.

Following the Paris PDM recommendations, and (unusually) with the approval of the entire spectrum of PHP developers and users, Andi went to work on removing safe_mode from CVS HEAD this week. […]
