The last couple of weeks have been an overwhelming affair. Working to get the redesign of SEO Scribes done before this weekend, finding a Halloween costume, and finishing a “Conferencing Client” in C for my Networking class have all collided. It’s been the wake-up-go-to-class-go-to work-go-do-homework-go-do-work cycle constantly this month. Oh, and it’s also my girlfriend’s birthday this weekend, Happy Birthday Lou!
The SEO Scribes site is turning out great, and it will officially launch by the beginning of next week. It’s a lot different than the other stuff I have worked on thanks to a client who actually knows what she wants! Most clients give me minimal information to work with and trust that I will make the correct design choices; this project has been directed very carefully since it’s onset.
This networking project was quite a shock, I’ve been so used to web programming that dipping back into C was like jumping into a cold, cold lake. I spent more time dealing with memory allocation errors, buffer flushing, and other mundane low level programming than I did learning the BSD socket API.
So now it’s Halloween weekend, a beautiful excuse for all the uptight college girls to dress like tramps and not feel guilty. Doesn’t it seems like every girl’s costume is “sexy”? Sexy nurses, sexy bunnies, prostitutes, and just about anything else you can make sexy. Since my girlfriend’s birthday is so close to Halloween, she is throwing a costume party at Gasthof’s in Northeast Minneapolis. Her and her friends are dressing up as women from different era’s, including the 20’s, 70’s and 80’s (most likely sexy versions). I personally haven’t found my costume yet, so it looks like another last minute trip to Party City for me. Costumes and thick German brews, sounds like a good night!
There are a couple more projects in the pipeline that I will talk about soon, including the new GC Broke Edition and some new logos I have designed for my Photo Journaling Software, Plogger (tentative name). Happy Halloween!
Anyone else nervous about the elections? Only 4 more days…
